All About Car Window Tints

While your car’s windows aren't something you'll likely spend a lot of time in, it’s still important to ensure that they're well-protected. By getting car window tinting, you can protect your vehicle against unwanted sun rays and keep your car's interior cooler, which will help to preserve the life of your air conditioning system and the performance of the car in general.

Types of car window tint

There are a few different types of window tinting, each with its own benefits and drawbacks.

The most common type of car window tint is called "premium film". This type of film blocks out light while still allowing the driver to see out the window.

It is usually made up of three layers: a top layer that blocks 99% of sunlight, a middle layer that blocks out some light, and a bottom layer that allows some light through. Premium film can be tinted in any color you want, as long as it matches the color of the window film.

Another type of car window tint is called "low-e", which stands for "low-emissivity". This type of film has a higher emissivity than regular window tinting, meaning it absorbs more light. This makes it ideal for cars that are parked in bright sunlight all day long or for cars that get banged around a lot. low-e film can be tinted any color you want, but it's usually less expensive to buy tints in darker colors.

The last type of car window tint is called "transparent". This type of film doesn't block any light whatsoever and lets everything through, including the sun. It's perfect for when your car needs to be seen on the road and you don't mind people seeing exactly what's inside of it. It's also very inexpensive, but not as effective at stopping the sun.
